8. Will a Pentium processor
work in my 486 motherboard?
No. The various processors have different numbers
of pins, different pinouts, different voltages, and require
different motherboard chipsets. And a 486 processor will
not function in a Pentium-based motherboard for the same
reasons.
Note that Intel made a Pentium OverDrive processor for 486
motherboards called the PODP5V (P24T), which has Pentium
internals, but works in a 486 motherboard
