9. I have attempted to flash upgrade my BIOS and although it is definitely for my motherboard I cannot get it to write correctly as it always locks the system before completing the operation. What should I try?

This is unusual but has been known where you are upgrading the bios by more than 1 version. A solution that has worked is to upgrade to a version that is later than the one the system has but earlier than the very latest version. If this fails then it may be necessary to upgrade 1 version at a time. note that each time the operation fails then it will be necessary to hot flash the bios back to a working version in order to recover.
